In Funky Winkerbean, who is Wanda?

Recently in the Funky Winkerbean comics, Funky and the surviving original cast went to a high school reunion. There was this one character named Wanda that everyone felt they had to apologize to. I sorta remember an earlier strip with a reunion where Les wishes he could apologize to her. Who is this Wanda and why does everyone need to apologize to her? Wiki doesn't help and neither does Batuik's official site.
