The esophagus lies directly behind or posterior to the trachea. The structure of the trachea allows for both functions. The opening of the C on the posterior side allows that bolus of food to push into the trachea on its way down to the stomach. I want to clarify the food is inside the esophagus but the bulge can intrude into the trachea so it has more room. If the rings were solid and round then food would have a much more difficult time moving to the stomach. I hope this makes some sense.

I surrendered father dog to the shelter because he was trying to attack his pups. Is this good decision?

I loved the father dog. He was the sweetest and the best of the best dog I have ever seen. With lot of grief and pain I had to make the hard decision of surrendering the father dog to an already over-crowded animal shelter, for the safety of the pups. The mother dog gave birth to a litter of 8 pups and the father dog was almost going to kill them, if I was any more late in stopping him. He also tried to attack the mother dog for no reason. I tried to find lot of alternatives but could not. Due to the pups being so fragile and utterly defenseless I couldn't do anything but surrender the father dog. When i took the father dog to the shelter, he knew he had done something wrong and the look on his face was pure terror and fear. His face grimace and i felt so bad thinking of that facial expression when getting home. I don't know what will be the fate of the father dog and now I feel very sad.

Could i be pregnant or is it a false positive?

i took a HTP on Saturday night it was a cvs brand blue dye test. i have pcos so i take one every once in a while sense i don't have a regular cycle. i waited about a min after taking it and the control blue line came up but nothing in the the other circle except a very extremely faint line that i thought i had tricked my self into see(im still not sure if it was really there) so i figured not pregnant and through it aside(like i said i have pcos so i figured i wasn't pregnant and wasn't to concerned). about an hour later i went to go to the bathroom and noticed the faint line was a more visible but again it was still very faint so i asked my fiance to look at it and he said he could see it but that it was very faint. sense then i have taken a second cvs test and on answer test for being inconclusive because not even the control line showed up. im going to retest but i don't know what to think. i haven't felt sick or have sore the only thing i have noticed is my sense of smell is very increased, i have been having a hard time sleeping (could be do to stress but its been going on for a few weeks) and i have been going to the bathroom more(could be because its summer and i have been drinking more) and i have been slightly constipated. sorry its so long i just wanted to give all the details all comments are greatly appreciated!!!

How can I hide/heal a fever blister on my bottom lip?

Hey guys, I've been getting cold sores since I was real little, maybe every 3-4 months one would pop up. Yesterday out of nowhere I felt the little tingling sensation in the middle of my bottom lip, right away I put some quantum lysine cream on it. (Use to use Abreva but I felt for the price, it wasn't doing anything special) I also read good reviews on how the lysine pills help as well, so I went out and bought those too. Last night I took 1 pill as soon as I bought them, and applied the cream a total of 5 times yesterday. Today, I took the pills and have continued to put the cream on. It still has gotten pretty big, and is a blister, but remains unpopped. I know its better if it doesn't pop, because its easier to heal. What else can I be doing to get this thing to go away? I also want to know if theres anything I can use to hide/cover up the blister, which is in the middle of my bottom lip. Any advice would be greatly appriciated. Thanks

I've had gerbils before. One would do back flips in it cage(: but you can get tumors around 2 years. Mine did. There very sweet and mine loved seeds and would take them right out of my hand. they eat the same as hamsters. I would have thought that mirtazapine would have been much more helpful than citalopram in treating anxity. Agitation is caused by the Mirtaz... leaving you body and the citalopr.... not quite kicking in yet. Citalopram can take up to 2 weeks to be effective and even up to 4 weeks before a change is noticed in the patient. You shouldnt be worried about it as its really normal and i have changed between these 2 meds myself. If it dosnt get better i 7 days go to see your Dr.

Question about smoker's cough and other symptoms?

I have had a pretty bad Smoker's cough for a year or two now and I've found it harder to do strenuous activity without being out of breath. I'm definitely in shape though. I also have bad circulation. My hands and feet are always cold and my finger nails often turn blue. These are all symptoms that any regular smoker would have but I'm not a smoker! The guy that I like is a foreign student. He used to rent a room with his brother but now that his brother moves out to live elsewhere, he is looking for another roommate. In their rented house, there are other roommates, and some of them are female, but i don't mind as long as they don't share the same room. I was kinda worried that he may look for a roommate who's a female and they will share the room, and since he's unattached and never had any relationships, I don't know what may happen to them. Has anyone done the 800m and 1 mile during one track meet?

The worst double I've ever done is the 400m, then turn around about 5 minutes later and run 300 IM hurdles. The events are only seperated by the 4 x 100 relay and that was brutal. One of the girls on my team would run the 4 x 100, 300 IM hurdles, then the 200m, 3 consecutive events. Most meets are scheduled to accommodate that kind of double though, and if you can run the 800 (2:25 from one of your other posts), you can probably be a pretty good miler too. To prep before hand, I would recommend doing longer interval workouts, such as 400s, but with longer recovery period, maybe 60 seconds. Or even 800s with 2 min recovery. For in between events, get out of the sun, drink water, stretch and most importantly, completely forget about the last race. Every race on the track is different from the last, so if you have a bad race in the first, forget about it, and come back and have a great race in the second one. You probably wont need as long of a warm up for the second event, but you do need to do something. What will be difficult is adjusting your muscle memory. uming the second event is the 800, your legs will want to start the race at the same pace they last ran, your 1600 pace. You have to get them out of that mode early in the race, and the best way to do that is focusing on the race that is going on. Most important for doubling in 2 completely different events: mental toughness and focus, and the willingness to leave it all on the track. As for race strategy, I would say don't adjust anything. Run your race in each.

How can I stop being angry at an abusive stepdad?

Wow man it sounds like a complete repeat of how my step-dad was to me. He was a monster and a very verbally abusive man and I believe he saw me as some sort of threat because I was another man under "his roof" It sucks man and I feel your pain. You're in a position of powerlessness and dont have any control over your situation other then too learn and accept that your step-father is truly an . My stepfather did the same thing. He would say the most aweful things to me when nobody else was around, putting me down, making me out to be the worst person in the world eventhough I knew it wasnt true. He would try very hard to make himself look good to everybody else so I would look like the one who was crazy. Its very sick and very sadistic and really my stepfather is a BAD alcoholic and would have a drink in his hand the minute he walked in the door after work. Very manipulative, very calculating and the one who REALLY had issues! Deep down hes a very angry and unhappy person himself and took it out on me. He also had a father who did the same thing to him and felt justified or that was his excuse to do it to me. That rage will only eat you up man. I know it did and still does for me. We are victims of a abuse and it sucks, but whats helped me has been to turn it around and accept this and that I dont have to be like him. It sounds weird, but pray for him! Hes sick and you dont have to be like that! Anger is the most powerful and dangerous emotion that can destroy a person and everyone around them. Do many Marine Corps mustangs enlist after college?

I want to be a Marine. I've been thinking about it a lot and was thinking of doing NROTC through college and becoming a Marine Officer. At the same time, the thought of being an enlisted Marine really attracts me. I am for sure going to college. What I'm wondering is if any Marine Officers that were prior enlisted ever went to college before enlisting so they didn't have to do it in between getting out of their 4 years and going to OCS and TBS. The reason why I think I might want to enlist first is that I don't want to go through my officer career never firing my weapon or joining my men in their hardships. It just seems like being an officer kind of alienates you from your men. The thing is, I want to be a marine and want that action and brotherly aspect from it too and don't know if I would get that being an officer as much. I don't want to send off troops to go do the dirty work and sit and watch them do things instead of having the experience of working along side my brothers. Can any marines help me with this dilemma? Buick lesabre 91' no spark no fuel problem?

3.8L V6 Car cranks over good but isnt getting fire or fuel. I read that if there is no fire the ECM wont pump the fuel. I have replaced the crank sensor and the cam sensor. The magnet for the cam sensor is there (not fallen off). Diagnostic tool says "Cam sensor failure code 41". Have checked ignition module at the local parts house and it tested fine 5 times in a row. coil packs seem to ohm out ok.It was doing the same thing two weeks ago, then it miraculously started and ran good every time i tried it for about a week; then back to the same problem(cam sensor and crank sensor replaced since the second failure). I thought i was good at fixing this stuff, but this one has got me ready to roll it into the creek, please help!

Generally it is best to paint a general purpose room in a neutral color. I would go with off-white, bone-white or Swiss coffee. A dark grey is too tough to match with anything in the room and after a while might actually look dirty.

I'm Brazilian and I remember I never got bored in Brazil. Puppy problems! biting/chewing eeeevvveeeerrryyything!!?

Puppies chew on absolutely everything, that is what puppies do. I have never in my life had or met a puppy that didn't chew on everything it could possibly reach. This will p as the puppy grows older. Some people use a type of spray that is designed to taste awful but be harmless, so the dog won't like to chew on what you. In my experience, even that doesn't work on puppies. The only advice I can give to you, is to get everything you appreciate out of the way until the puppy becomes older and stop chewing. No matter how many toys you give the puppy, it will still chew on absolutely everything it comes by. And the puppy finds nothing more funny to chew on than the stuff it's not permitted to chew on ;-)

How much would it cost for a kitten leg amputation?

I found a kitten on my parents' property today. She can't be much more than 10 weeks old. She appears to have badly broken her right rear leg and it has healed in such a way that she can't use it at all. It doesn't appear to be causing pain, but I have a feeling the vet will recommend amputation. I didn't want to bring her to a shelter, because I'm sure she'd be euthanized, but I want to be prepared for how much an amputation would cost. I REALLY want to save this cat's life....

Well, this is gonna take some time to get through so enjoy. I am about to be more honest with you than I am with most of my friends when I'm sober. I'll start by telling you about myself. I'm 19, I'm attending a university in CA, I'm 6'3 and 145 lbs, I'm considered a genius in math, economics, english comprehension, and reasoning, I run 3-6 miles 5 days out of every week, for the past 3 weeks I've also started to lift weights for an hour 3x every week, I am very pacifist and hard to get angry, I'm told that I have a better than average facial appearance, I'm the guy who is always opening the doors for people and sharing my stuff with anyone who wants whatever it is, and giving my friends money when they need it, and I have a job in the physics dept on campus since my major is physics. I have 2 younger brothers and an older sister. My life sounds so perfect right? Well, growing up I was ADHD, OCD, and I had oppositional defiant disorder, I had lived in 7 different places by the time I entered the sixth grade, and even then we only stayed where my family lives now I am guessing because my parents divorced when I was in the seventh grade. My dad cheated on my mom with my, no step-mom, who is bipolar. She was even physically abusive to my sister and one of my brothers, and verbally abusicve to me and all my siblings for 3 years till my dad finally threatened to leave her if she didn't get help. She did, but she still is a horrible person (faking cancer to get sympathy from the professsors in the nursing program she is failing for example). But thats not really what this whole story is going to be about. I got to where I am because I am a very motivated person. I'm guessing the OCD had something to do with that, but the point is I have worked like crazy, and had to work on my self-discipline for years to become the person I am now. I never really questioned myself about why I cared so much. I think I was more content to just keep telling myself that Kharma would come around and help me out someday if I was a good person. So, this is where the problem comes into my life...a girl. Yes, It's one of THOSE stories. bear with me through this. She moved into the dorms where I am also living this year, and we met on the first day. Yes, she is cute, but no, I don't decide whether or not I like a girl based on just that. Trust me, I know plenty of even cuter girls who I could get easily, but I just don't feel a connection with them. (A guy who likes a girl for more than looks :O I know right?) Anyways, when I first met her I didn't really care too much. She was just another cute face back then, but since her room mate is one of my best friends, I found myself hanging around her a lot. We got along really well, and I started to kind of like her, but then I found out my room mate had a crush on her and was breaking up with his girl friend to ask her out. I'm just not the jealous type of guy, and my opinion was, "Okay, if he really likes her that much even though he's only known her for a week, then I wish him the best of luck." Well, he decided later that he didn't like her as much as he thught once he got to know her, so he never asked her out, and he told me that he didn't really have any feelings for her anymore a week later. I had still been hanging around her as a friend, and this opened the door for viewing her as more than a friend, which I hadn't considered. The problem is, I have a huge fear of rejection. Such a big fear of it that I haven't asked a girl out since I was 14 and got shot down. Pathetic, alright, I get it. It's not even a matter of self confidence though that inspired this fear. The girl who I had asked out back when I was 14 was a good friend of mine (I do friend before considering gf even) and after asking her out and geting turned down, something just changed between us. We stopped talking as much and I felt so embarred to be around her that I started trying to avoid her when I could. So, fast forwarding back to the present. This girl who I like now, once I got to know her I realized I had a lot in common with her, and a lot of what she said I found myself thinking "genius" about. Anyways, just throwing this in, but my friends and I, our little "group," will get together maybe once every three weeks or so and have a few shots together. She hasn't drank in about 7 weeks though, which happens to be right around the time when I started drinkingfor the first time. I've ony drank 3 times before, but when I do drink I really can't keep secrets worth crap. Practice at home often and listen to every thing the instructor says to a t. also driving is about being smooth, if u ever want ur cl 5 then u want to practice making every maneuver blend if your instructor is a than thats better, he/she will be harder on you and make you work more. just pactice your *** off and if u have ur learners go to walmart buy some of those pylons and get your mom/dad to set up a course that gets progressively harder as you get better at driving and practice at night when its mostly empty
